A false inquiry about a product in order to lower the price
Question
A person posted an ad on Yad2 for a price of 1000. I want a friend to call him and say that he wants to buy it for 600, in order to cause him to lower the price, and afterward I will call him and offer 800. There is a good chance he will agree.
Is it permitted to do such a thing?

Answer
Shalom u’verachah.
If the price of 1000 NIS for such an item is a reasonable price, it is forbidden to use deception in order to make him lower the price.
