Using the Light of Hanukkah Candles
Question
We lit the Hanukkah candles, and there is a power outage. Now we are at home only by the light of the Hanukkah candles. Is it permissible to tidy up the house by the candlelight or to read some Tehillim?
Answer
It is forbidden to use the light of the Hanukkah candles for any purpose, whether mundane or sacred.
