Preferred Height for Placing Hanukkah Candles
Question
What is the preferred height for placing the candles?
Answer
The candles should be placed above three tefachim [28.8 cm, and some say 24 cm]. If they are placed below three tefachim, although some hold that even post facto it is not valid, the halacha is that post facto it is valid. Additionally, the candles should be placed below ten tefachim [which is 96 cm, and some say 80 cm]. If they are placed above ten tefachim up to twenty amot, it is valid.
