Rinsing the Mouth During a Fast

Question

Is it permissible to rinse the mouth during a fast?

Answer

It is forbidden.
However, if one is in great discomfort or there is an issue of human dignity, it is permitted. One should tilt the head in a way that water is not swallowed.
