Sore Throat - Fast of Gedaliah

Question

I woke up with very severe throat pain. Am I obligated to fast on the Fast of Gedaliah?

Answer

Shalom u'vrachah 

If the pain is extremely severe, to the point that you feel weakness throughout your entire body [not just localized pain], you are exempt from the fast.
