Is it permitted to listen to regular music after Lag BaOmer?

Hello,
From the perspective of the mourning period of the Omer, it is permitted to listen to music after Lag BaOmer.
However, many Ashkenazi Jews have the custom not to listen to music until close to the festival of Shavuot, due to the severe decrees and the destruction of many communities during the Crusades.
