Listening to Holy Words with Unclean Hands

Question

My wife listens to lectures on the phone, and sometimes rulings and the like are mentioned. She asks if she is allowed to listen when she has touched covered areas and the like and has not yet washed her hands?

It is permissible to listen when the hands are unclean.
