Washing Hands on a Long Trip
Question
If one is traveling on a journey that is longer than 72 minutes and he has water, but has nowhere to pour it, may he be lenient and rely on wrapping his hands?
Answer
Shalom u’vrachah
If a solution can be found, such as washing his hands through the window to the outside, or collecting the water in a container and the like, he is obligated to wash his hands properly with water.
Only if there is no possibility whatsoever to wash may he wrap his hands in a garment.
