I wanted to ask: what is preferable — to learn most of the day wearing Rabbeinu Tam tefillin or Rashi tefillin, or to divide the time half and half?

Most of the time one should wear Rashi tefillin.
For the primary halacha follows Rashi, and one never recites a blessing over Rabbeinu Tam tefillin.
