Matters of Sanctity — When Waiting to Step Back After the Prayer

Question

Hello, Rabbi. A person finished the Shemoneh Esrei prayer, but cannot step backward because behind him there is someone who is still praying, and therefore he has not yet said “Oseh shalom bimromav.” During the chazzan’s repetition, is he permitted to answer “Baruch Hu u’varuch Shemo” and “Amen”?

Answer

Hello and blessings

He may answer any matter of sanctity. Even “Berich Hu” and “Baruch Hu u’varuch Shemo.”
