Notification of Exemption from Tachanun
Question
Should the mohel and sandek inform the congregation at the minyan they are praying in that they are conducting a brit today so that the entire congregation does not say Tachanun, or do they not need to inform, and the congregation will say Tachanun?
Answer
They themselves will not say it, but they do not need to inform the congregation, and therefore the congregation not participating in the joy will say Tachanun, which has very great merit [but if the congregation becomes aware, they will not say Tachanun].
