Does touching the ear require washing one's hands?
Question
Hello,
If a person touches their ear, do their hands require washing as if they touched the covered areas of their body? If so, which part of the ear? (Outer, inner, deepest part in the canal where the wax is, etc.)
Answer
Hello
Only touching the inner and hidden part of the ear requires Washing one's hands (Netillah).
The obligation to wash though, is only before reciting a prayer, blessing, study of Torah, and other sacred matters.
