Hearing the Thirteen Attributes in Prayer

Minyan for Ashkenazim
A person who is still in the midst of the Shemoneh Esrei prayer (Mincha) when the congregation has already reached Tachanun, in an Ashkenazi minyan.
1. A person who hears the Thirteen Attributes and is still in the Amidah prayer with personal requests, how should he act?
Should he respond?
2. Should he stand on his toes twice when the name of God is mentioned?

In the midst of the Shemoneh Esrei, one does not respond to the Thirteen Attributes, and there is no need to stand on one's toes.
