He Began a Blessing from Which He Is Exempt
Question
A person of Ashkenazic background who did not sleep the entire night, and in the morning mistakenly began to recite the blessing of "Elokai Neshamah" or "HaMa’avir Sheinah". Should he complete the blessing so that it will not definitely be an utterance of Heaven’s Name in vain, even though by doing so he will say Hashem’s Name again, which may perhaps be in vain? Or should he stop immediately, so as not to say Heaven’s Name again when it may perhaps be in vain?
Answer
Greetings and blessings
He should not continue, so that he not transgress by reciting a blessing in vain.
