Started Blessing 'Me'ein Shalosh' on a Bread Meal

Question

A person who ate a bread meal and needed to recite Birkat Hamazon, but mistakenly started the 'Al Hamichya' blessing, can he stop in the middle and continue with the text of Birkat Hamazon?

Continue with Birkat Hamazon.
