Starting to Eat at a Train Station
Question
A person is sitting at a train station and waiting for a train that will arrive in another 20 minutes. In the meantime, he is eating foods to which the law of changing one’s location applies, and he knows with certainty that he will finish the food before the train arrives. Is he considered like those traveling on the road or not?
Answer
Shalom u’vrachah
He should begin eating in a non-fixed place, such as while waiting standing up, and not while sitting on a bench, so that he will be considered as one who is traveling on the road.
