Blessing Me'ein Shalosh instead of Birkat Hamazon

If one mistakenly recited the blessing Me'ein Shalosh instead of Birkat Hamazon, is it considered fulfilled?
Answer
No, one must go back and recite the blessing again. [According to Torah law, it is considered fulfilled, but according to the Rabbis, one must bless again.]
