Time for the Shehecheyanu Blessing on a Tallit

I bought a new tallit [tallit gadol] and wanted to ask when it is appropriate to recite the Shehecheyanu blessing on the tallit: at the time of attaching the tzitzit or at the first wearing? Thank you very much.

The time for the blessing is at the first wearing. First, recite the blessing on the tzitzit, and then recite the Shehecheyanu.
