Obligation of the Blessing of HaGomel in a Case of Possible Danger

Question

A person was traveling by car on an intercity road going downhill, the driver lost control and the car almost went off the road, but in the end the driver managed to stabilize it. Is one required to recite the HaGomel blessing?

Answer

If there was mortal danger, one should recite the HaGomel blessing.
