What are the segulot in the redemption of the firstborn?

I will list a few segulot that I have seen: 1. To save the redeemed from a death sentence (Sefer Chassidim). 2. The child will be protected from children's diseases (Chida, Midbar Kedmot). 3. Rectification of the blemish of the covenant, like 84 fasts (Pri Tzadik).
