The Amount of the Redemption Price for a Firstborn Son
Question
Why are the five sela’im for the redemption of the firstborn son calculated according to a market price that is 16% higher than the exchange price, whereas in reality the difference is about 30%?
Answer
Shalom u’vracha.
Apparently, the calculation was made according to the cheapest places.
