Family Sabbath in Days of Mourning

Question

Hello! Is it permissible for a mourner to go out for a family Sabbath gathering with uncles and cousins during the year of mourning?

Answer

Greetings,
The instruction of our teacher Rabbi Amram Fried, SHLIT”A, is that it is permitted to go out for a family Sabbath with the immediate family (sons, daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law), but not with the extended family (uncles, cousins, etc.).
