Euthanizing an Old Dog

Question

The dog is already 19 years old, he is not in control of his needs, vomits, and it seems to me that he is suffering. Is it permissible for me to euthanize him?

Answer

According to Jewish law, this is permissible, but it should be done in a way that does not cause him suffering, for example, by a veterinarian.
