Constant place or time for prayer.
Question
On weekdays, I start work early in the morning, and for that reason, I need to pray after dawn but before the sunrise. What is the law on Friday when I don't go to work? Do I need to pray in my regular place of prayer before the dawn, since this where I pray every day, or should I pray after sunrise at a time, which is preferrable halachically?
Answer
Dear …!
You should pray at sunrise.
The reason is that one can pray before sunrise only if there is no other choice, and it is only allowed for day laborers (who must work all of the daylight hours) or for other similar cases. And praying in a fixed place is not an obligation, only a beautification of the mitzvah of prayer.
