Escorting a Torah scroll

Question

At the synagogue where I am learning, they sometimes take Torah scrolls to other rooms. I wanted to know if it is obligatory to accompany the Torah scroll that is passing in front of me?

Answer

Dear …!
There is no obligation, but there is a commandment to escort the scroll in order to honor the Torah. However, one should not stop it in the middle of studying for this.
