Vapor that touches spices

Question

If a jar of spices was used to add the spices from the jar directly into a boiling pot of meat, does that make the spices in the jar meaty? Or is it permitted to use the spices for dairy dishes? What is the law regarding a bottle of oil that was poured into a frying pan with meat?

Answer

Dear ...!

Even though there are vapors that rise from the food to a spice jar or oil bottle, these do not become meaty. There is no problem with the vapors, as they are usually not hot to the point of "yad soledes" when they come out of the pot and the frying pan. There is also no problem of "connection" that is created when the oil is poured from the bottle to the frying pan, since there is no concept of "pouring fluid" when the food is permitted.
