Using soap for a toilet bowl on Shabbos

Question

In my house, we usually use a contraption with balls of soap in it that automatically cleans the toilet when it's flushed. Is it permissible to use it on Shabbos?

Answer

Dear ...!

If the soap colors the water, it should not be used on Shabbos. If the soap only scents the water and does not color it, it is permitted.

Source

The Mishnah Berurah (chapter 128, subsection 23) quotes a dispute whether it is permissible to aromatize water. And here, since it is only being aromatized to remove a bad smell, it is permissible.
