Medicine against throat inflammation

Question

My doctor gave me a medicine against recurrent throat inflammation. It’s a pleasant-tasting lozenge and it has a kashruth certification. However, its kashruth supervision is very basic, not something that I normally rely on. Am I allowed to take this medicine?

Answer

Dear …,

Since we’re talking about a medication, you can rely on a basic level of kashruth supervision.
