I’m uncertain whether I said “give dew and rain”

Question

I just finished saying my afternoon “mincha” prayer, and I’m not sure, whether I said “give dew and rain”, or not. Do I have to pray again?

Answer

Dear …!

If someone isn’t sure whether he said the words “give dew and rain” during the winter season, what should he do? If this happened less than thirty days after the seventh of Cheshvan (the day when we begin saying these words) we can assume that he said what he was accustomed to saying during the summer season. Therefore, he should say the whole prayer over again. However, if someone did have in mind that he has to say “give dew and rain” when he was praying, and only afterwards started having doubts whether he actually said it, then he can rely on the assumption that he did mention those words, and doesn’t have to pray again.
