Coffee prepared by a gentile
Question
Is one allowed to drink coffee in a café that belongs to a non-Jew? Also, what about instant coffee, which outside Eretz Israel is made by non-Jews? Does its roasting make it forbidden as food cooked by a non-Jew? And what if a gentile prepares the actual cup of coffee for drinking? Thank you
Answer
You are allowed to drink, and the prohibition of food cooked by a gentile doesn’t apply here.
