Immersion of a new kettle

Question

Does a new kettle have to be immersed in a mikveh?

Answer

Dear …

A kettle needs to be immersed in an mikveh, just like any other utensil that is used to food and beverages. Even if the kettle itself is plastic, it always has a heating element, which is made out of metal, and has to be immersed.
