Chanukah lighing
Question
I live in a complex , my house isn't viable from the street, is the driveway of the complex considered my chatzer or the shutfus cancels out the heker. even if yes maybe since i would refain from using it since its not private its not rayu leshimush and its worse than a stum chatzer even according to the brisker rav . if im chayiv to light there do i light beside the main gate (cars) or side gate (people) or there's no difference. if i must light at home that has 2 floors what to do, i cant light next to the main door on the left opposite of the mezuzah , but that door opens to an area that leads to upstairs and has another door for the current level, should i light by that second door or maybe since its not the main door i can light anywhere in the house. if i can light anywere can i light by the shabbos candels because the shape of the chanukia and oil as apposed to candels is a heker. if its possible to light anywhere is above 10 tefachim in a easier seen place better that belove 10 in a less seen place. is there a hiddur to light until everyone goes to sleep. if i should light i 2 places where to say the brachah. hope gave all the details. many thanks. please answer ASAP.
Answer
Thank you for your question.
Your best option would be to light by the window even in a case that it is not visible from the sterrt nevertheless if the neighbors across (even in a case that the are not Jewish) are able to see it, then one should light there. If that is not the case and your windows are not visible to anyone not even the neighbors across, then you should light by the doorway entrance where you enter the building, not the driveway.
