Praying with Pets
Question
Is it appropriate to sit on my couch saying Tehillim, while our big black cat sits on my lap. He comes on his own to settle onto me. I don't like it. But I feel bad sending him off.
Answer
Shalom!
Thank you for your question.
There is no problem to have one’s pets on one’s lap when praying as long as there are no bad smells or bodily dirt.
