Statue of Liberty an Idol?

Question

Is a "tourist item" Statue of Liberty considered a pesel?

Answer

Shalom!

Thank you for your question.

It is true that, indeed, a Jew is generally forbidden from constructing (or even keeping) a human figure, such as a statute.

However, now that it is built, it is permitted to visit it and enjoy it, as it is not an image that is worshipped.
