Early Yom Tov (2nd Day)

Question

Are you allowed to make early yom tov on the 2nd day?

Answer

Shalom!

Thank you for your question.

As a general rule, one should not begin the 2nd day of Yom Tov early. Rather, one should wait until dark. This is definitely the law with regard to the second day of Pesach and the second day of Sukkot.

In a time of need, one can be lenient and begin the second day of Shavuot and the last day of Pesach and Sukkot early (from Plag Hamincha onward).
