Verse in the Bible explained ‌

Question

Shalom, Rabbi My question is in 2nd Chronicles 27 verse 1 and then verse 8. Why is the age of Jotham reversed to say the same thing about his age and reign in Jerusalem? Maybe just how it was copied out in letterings but for some reason I feel that there is something else there. When time /schedule allows your response will help me. Blessings, Light and Shalom Thank you

Answer

Yotam ruled for a number of years during his father's lifetime. His father, as recounted in  Kings  II 15:5, contracted tzara'at (leprosy). Consequently, the Scripture underscores the specific duration of Yotam's independent reign following his father's demise.
