Get for unmarried couple

Question

Im baal tshuvah and lived with a men no chupah do i need a get

Answer

A couple that has not formalized their marriage through a traditional wedding ceremony, but has chosen to live together, generally does not require a get. However, if there was a formal act symbolizing the union, such as the exchange of rings to signify spousal commitment, it may be advisable for the husband to provide a get to the wife. In such situations, seeking guidance from an experienced rabbi is recommended. The rabbi, with a comprehensive understanding of the specific circumstances, can offer informed advice on the appropriate course of action.
