Heating Pizza in a Meat Microwave
Question
What is the halacha if one of the children accidentally heated a frozen pizza in a meat microwave? What if the pizza was inside a bag and what if it wasn't? Can the microwave be koshered?
Answer
Shalom and joyous holidays!
If the pizza was inside a bag and the bag was not opened during heating, the microwave is permitted.
If it was not in a bag, or if the bag was open - the microwave must be koshered.
The koshering is done by placing an open cup of water inside the microwave and heating it for a quarter of an hour.
