Yom Kippur Fast - Saxenda Injections

Question

I use Saxenda injections for weight loss. The side effects of the injection include significant fluid loss. The danger of fluid loss is that it can lead to dehydration and fainting. Even if I do not take the injection two days before the fast, these symptoms will still occur. I wanted to know if I can drink in small quantities, and if so, how often?

Answer

Shalom!
You should begin the fast. If there are symptoms of dehydration, such as severe dizziness, seeing black, extreme weakness, you should drink ‘by measurements’.
That is, 40 ml every 9 minutes. If you see that this is not enough, you should drink this amount every 4 minutes.
In case you need to drink, it is preferable to drink grape juice and the like, and not water, in order to also provide energy to the body.
