Moving a deceased from the bed to the floor

Question

A person has just passed away in my home. Should I move the deceased from the bed to the floor?

Answer

Dear …!
Immediately after death, it is forbidden to move the deceased. One should not move him from his place, as he may still be in the throes of death, and this action could hasten his demise.
After a waiting period [some observe 20 minutes, others half an hour], the deceased should be moved to the floor.
