Trading in Pig Futures Contracts

Question

Is there a halakhic issue with trading in futures contracts for pigs on the stock exchange? Of course, we are talking about speculative trading in the price of the contracts, not the actual commodity of the pigs themselves.

Answer

Greetings,
Since the trade is not in forbidden items, but in speculations on the price of their contract, it is permitted.
