Tefillin that were left in a vehicle

Question

If Tefillin were in a vehicle that was exposed to the sun, do they need to be checked? And if so, how long does the vehicle need to have been exposed to the sun to require the checking of the Tefillin?

Answer

Shalom!
According to what I have heard from those who deal with Tefillin, if the Tefillin became warped due to the heat, the parchments should also be checked. If not, there is no need.
