Compensation for a Cancelled Vacation

Question

Greetings and blessings! A family arranged a vacation with an owner of a large apartment and paid her some of the rent in advance. Three days before the vacation was supposed to begin, the apartment owner cancelled the reservation because she had not finished renovating the apartment. Are the renters entitled to compensation from the apartment owner? And what? Thank you.
