A vow not to visit places that desecrate Shabbos

Question

A 12-year-old boy vowed not to visit places that desecrate Shabbos. And now the whole family is going on a trip to a Shabbos-desecrating amusement park. Can the vow be annulled?

Answer

Shalom!
The vow cannot be annulled. Vows of a 12-year-old boy who understands what a vow is are as binding as the vows of a Bar Mitzvah boy. A vow to fulfill a commandment cannot be annulled, and his vow is a vow to fulfill a commandment.
