Fasting with Weakness and Iron Deficiency

Question

My hemoglobin is 9.1 and you told me not to fast. The question is, if I manage to fast, it's hard but possible, is there a commandment to fast in this case, or is there no commandment to fast in such a situation?

Answer

Our sages exempted a sick person from fasting. And for someone who is exempt, there is no virtue in fasting.
On the contrary, one should take care of his health and ensure that the body recovers and does not weaken further.
