Fasting After Fertility Treatment

Question

Regarding the fast, I am undergoing fertility treatments (age 43). Yesterday evening, I underwent an egg retrieval procedure under full anesthesia. I was discharged home with standard post-procedure pains. Rest is needed, and 3 days of rest were recommended. In the past, I was given permission to drink but not to eat (fasting is very difficult to me, once I even had to go to the emergency room (because I was very thirsty and weak), I have headaches, etc. and more). What should I do this year?

Answer

Shalom!
Given the current situation, you are allowed to drink but not to eat. If the headache and similar symptoms continue, you are also allowed to eat.
