Olive Oil for Lighting Shabbat Candles

Question

Is there a particular significance in lighting Shabbat candles with edible olive oil, or is there no difference between olive oil for lighting and for eating?

Answer

Shalom!
The point of lighting with olive oil is because it burns better than other oils, therefore there is no difference whether the oil is suitable for eating or not.
