Assembling a Cabinet during the Nine Days
Question
I bought a bookcase from IKEA before the beginning of the month of Av. The packages were in the car and I brought them into the house after the start of the month. Is it permissible to assemble the cabinet and attach it to the wall during the Nine Days?

One should not create a new vessel or significant piece of furniture during the Nine Days, as there is joy in this new acquisition, unless there is an urgent need for it during these days. It should be postponed until after Tisha B'Av.
