Havdalah before Sunset during the Nine Days

Question

Is it permitted to perform Havdalah before sunset on Shabbos [during the Nine Days] in order to avoid the issue of drinking the wine?

Answer

Shalom!
One is not allowed to perform Havdalah during daylight hours except in times of urgency. In this case, there is no urgency, since one is allowed to drink the wine or to give it to a child who is capable of intending to fulfill the obligation of the blessing, but is still not capable of mourning for Jerusalem.
