Tasting Foods on the Eve of Shabbat Chazon

Question

Is it permitted on the eve of Shabbat Chazon to fulfill the mitzvah of 'tasting' [Shabbos food before Shabbos]?

Eating meat foods is forbidden, other foods are permitted.
